Chazaq GALA Dinner | Miami 2026
The Diplomat
Sunday, January 11, 2026
For over two decades, CHAZAQ has stood on the front lines of Jewish continuity, providing fund and educational programs for thousands of public school students in more than 25 locations.
From Sunday schools that introduce children to their Jewish identity, to daily teen afterschool programs that keep youth off the streets, CHAZAQ equips the next generation with values, direction, and purpose.
While CHAZAQ's accomplishments have been life-changing, its mission is far from complete. Every day, more Jewish children in public schools are searching for identity, guidance, and connection. To meet this growing need, CHAZAQ must continue expanding its programs, reaching new communities, and strengthening existing ones - ensuring that no child is left behind.
Born in Queens and reaching communities around the world, CHAZAQ is not only shaping futures - it is strengthing the next generation of Jewish life.
Be part of the Revolution!
CHAZAQ offers several after-school and weekend programs specifically for Jewish students attending public schools, focusing on Jewish heritage, education, and social development.
Primary Programs
Yaldeinu After-School Program: This daily extracurricular program provides academic enrichment and hands-on activities for elementary-aged children.
Activities: Homework support, Hebrew reading and writing, sports (such as basketball), chess, arts and crafts, and holiday-themed projects.
Goal: To nurture personal interests while imbuing students with Jewish values and traditions.
J-Wave Teens Division: This program serves teenagers (middle and high school ages), with a focus on providing a safe environment away from negative street influences.
Activities: Mentorship, daily Torah classes, open discussions, inspirational "Shabbatons" (weekend retreats), and social trips.
Goal: To guide youth toward future success and help them resist peer pressure.
Shaping Lives Sunday School: While primarily held on Sundays, it is a key component of CHAZAQ's outreach to public school students aged 5–12.
Activities: Hebrew reading/writing, pizza, raffles, and interactive lessons on Jewish holidays and traditions.
Ages Served
Elementary (Ages 5–12): Served through Yaldeinu and Shaping Lives.
Teens (Ages 13–18+): Served through the J-Wave Division.
CHAZAQ operates these programs in various locations across Queens and other areas like Roslyn, Hewlett, and Mill Basin. More details on specific program locations and enrollment can be found on the CHAZAQ official website.
Everything about Chazaq is unique. Let's start at the beginning, when our founder, Yaniv Meirov at the tender age of 15 wrote and distributed weekly Torah newsletters. His brother, Rav Ilan noticed that Yaniv's newsletter needed a big brother's help so they joined hands in working together.
Yaniv is a man of passion and he and his brother wanted to educate their community. The first lecture arranged was with a young dynamic speaker. Anticipating a crowd of 20, Yaniv and Rav Ilan were overjoyed as they welcomed over 500 people at their very first event, and Chazaq was born!
From Children to teens, singles to couples, millennials to baby boomers and for our cherished seniors, Chazaq offers programming for all!
One of Chazaq's many missions is to offer after school programs for Jewish children in public schools and imbue them with the richness of their religious, historical, and cultural heritage with the hopes of helping them find a Yeshiva that fits their learning capabilities.
Chazaq embraces each child with unconditional support and individualized attention helping each one reach his/her fullest potential.
Chazaq's mission is both a domestic and global effort, which puts a large emphasis on sparking the love of Torah through education in communities near and far.
The evening will highlight CHAZAQ’s mission of inspiring Jewish pride and continuity through its wide network of after-school programs, youth initiatives, and its groundbreaking work transferring public-school students into Jewish day schools. Over 10,000 public school students have been touched by Chazaq programs and services with over 2,200 transferred to Jewish day schools across the United States.
The program will recognize visionary supporters whose commitment has enabled CHAZAQ to expand into multiple communities — ensuring that every child has access to meaningful Jewish education and positive role models.
Honorees include Mr. Rafael Ilishayev, co-founder and Co-CEO of Gopuff. Mr. Kobi Karp known for his architectural masterpieces. Mr. Shalom Zirkiev founder of Rock Real group. Mr. Michael Farah founder of Dr. Mobicare. And NBA All Star Legend Amare Staudamire whose journey to a life of spirituality has inspired people across the globe.
Each honoree represents courage, leadership, and a shared belief: no Jewish child should ever feel disconnected from their faith or future.
The evening will be uplifted by the presence of Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, whose powerful guidance and unwavering support for CHAZAQ’s mission have touched communities worldwide.
